About SMA Life
SMA Life envisions a world of peace, harmony and where humans live their lives according to who they truly are. SMA Life holds a burning desire to create spaces where humans can thrive in their fullness, where the fire of the soul is what leads us and where humans act as nature and not against it.

SMA Life's long term vision is accomplished by developing and creating a wide range of servicies and facilities with this vision at their core. The steps of the roll out of services are as follows:

-
Online training. Courses teaching and digging deep into how to live a life aligned with who you are and how to create structures and organisations that support such human unfolding.
-
Retreats. Immersive multi-day experiences where nature, adventure and transformation are intertwined.
-
Innovation & Transformation Centres. Physical spaces where scientific innovation and deep transformation go hand on hand. Spaces where the ultimate aim is to serve and learn from nature.
Who am I?
My name is Sergio, the body, soul and human behind SMA Life. I was born in Spain in the early 90's in a small city in the North of Spain, Vitoria-Gasteiz. Although I had a "normal" life on the outside I would not say I was very "normal". I was quite introvert and I spent a lot of time alone. I felt in general overwhelmed with the presence of other children although I did enjoy my time with them. At the same time I felt I was acting and not being truly me.

Early on, I remember having a very rich internal life and hardly ever being bored. Curiosity was driving me and I was incredibly eager to learn anything and everything about nature and the world. Animals, plants, minerals, history, geography, everything was welcome. Time in nature was time in awe for me, so much to do, so much to discover. Nature has always been an infinite source of possibilities for me.

Then I hit puberty and somehow I slowly disconnected from that essence. I partied a lot, what was fun. Although it ended up feeling empty after some years. I did what I was supposed to do without much reflection until I was 25 years old. I studied Industrial Engineering (BSc and MSc) and Economics (BSc) in Madrid.
I did travel a lot those years and managed to get in touch with alternative ways of living. The concept of living a nomad life came to me around 24 years old and when I was 25, I set myself on an adventure to become just that, a digital nomad. South East Asia was the region I started with and along with a dear friend of mine, we founded Ambitious Tracks, an online magazine about traveling and innovation. It was a leeway to follow our curiosity and longing to explore. That venture opened so many doors for both of us.
After 9 months of being a digital nomad I burnt out. I can say it was too much or I can say it was what I needed to breakthrough from the blindness I was living in. In any case, it was far from a pleasant journey, more like a nightmare. That burnout led me to start a deep healing journey, looking and digging into core wounds of me and us, humans, in areas where there is much shame, such as sexuality. Among all that, I went through a deep spiritual awakening during Vipassana meditation that changed how I would look at life forever. I could clearly see how I had built a life based on fear instead of love to avoid pain and to escape from myself. This realisation was brutal, yet such a blessing.
The following years have been a journey of discovery and reclaiming who I am. I lived in Myanmar, Costa Rica and Netherlands. The reconnection with nature has been and is a constant in my life. It led me to Costa Rica to explore Biomimicry and volunteer in nature conservation. It led me to Netherlands to study a MSc in Biobased Materials and work as R&D scientist. I have dedicated time and resources to dive deeper into my own nature as a human through the world of Tantra and the understanding of sexuality and embodiment. Recently, I have found free-diving to be the ultimate connection wire with nature for me, and I am exploring it wholeheartedly. It has been a long journey until here and it really feels it is just the beginning.
Through all these changes in my life, I have come to develop a deep understanding of how we humans function and how to thrive and live a life of freedom and love. And very important, what blocks are on the way. The desire to share all this wisdom lead me to train myself as a professional coach. SMA Life and its vision is the entity emerging from my life journey. It is the place where everything I care and stand for come together.
